TNFC Presents 2024-2026 Strategic Plan

Kamloops, BC – June 14, 2024 – The Thompson-Nicola Film Commission (TNFC) is pleased to present the 2024-2026 Strategic Plan, setting priorities and goals to advance filming in the Thompson-Nicola region.

The goals of the TNFC Strategic Plan are to ensure a compelling call to action through its mission statement, focused initiatives, and clear measures that align actions, resources, and economic initiatives to guide decision-making within the TNFC. The new Strategic Plan includes an updated Mission Statement and a list of values that align with the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Strategic Plan.

Actions and measures outlined in the Strategic Plan fall under three focus areas:

  • Educate and communicate
  • Market and promote
  • Facilitate and support

Action items include focusing on continued relationship building with film industry stakeholders, continuing to expand marketing materials of Thompson-Nicola film locations, education through workshops and delegations, lobbying for a motion picture film studio in the TNRD, and other initiatives. The Strategic Plan sets target timelines for each action item up to the first quarter of 2027.

Planning for the new 2024-2026 Strategic Plan began in late 2023, and included stakeholder engagement sessions and a public survey and feedback opportunity in spring of 2024. A summary of engagement outcomes and feedback is included in the Strategic Plan, and the TNFC appreciates all of the input that has been created to help shape this new guiding document.
