Kamloops, BC – July 25, 2024 – The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) is pleased to announce new hours of service for the Kamloops and North Kamloops Libraries. As part of these changes, both libraries will be open on Sundays year-round.
A survey was conducted in October of 2023 to gather feedback from residents about hours of operation at both libraries, and more than 700 residents participated. This was followed by a review of the survey data, as well as library usage statistics.
The updated hours of operation feature daytime service seven days a week and modified evening hours. Notably, these changes include the introduction of year-round Sunday library service, ensuring that residents have access to library services seven days a week. Previously, the Kamloops Library was open Sundays between October and April only.
“We heard from residents about what they would like to see, and now we are putting several changes into action that are aimed at best serving our library patrons,” says Margo Schiller, Manager of Kamloops Libraries and Engagement. “Sundays are especially important for families, and this change reflects the TNRL’s commitment to meeting their needs.”
Changes to hours of operation will come into effect on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, after the Labour Day long weekend.
